BindView's bv-Control for Windows 2000 solution won in the Security category because of its ability to address a wide array of security issues across the enterprise. "Its flexible reporting, built-in best-practices assessment tools and ActiveAdmin(R) features help enable IT administrators to discover and address security vulnerabilities across the enterprise," said Windows & .NET Magazine Best of Show judge and senior technical editor Michael Otey.
The bv-Control for Windows 2000 solution helps IT administrators perform security checks that detect vulnerabilities within a network. Upon identifying these vulnerabilities and security risks, administrators can then fix many critical issues immediately. Key features of BindView's bv-Control for Windows 2000 solution include:
-- ActiveAdmin Automation Tool - identifies security problems and configuration updates, and completes the process by helping to fix vulnerabilities quickly and efficiently. -- BindView Security Adviser - measures compliance with the latest Microsoft security bulletins, delivers forensic analysis on non-compliant machines and provides a link to the Microsoft site for patches. Platforms supported include Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and IIS. -- Comprehensive Reporting capabilities - leverages a distributed architecture to retrieve information from far corners of the network and helps administrators to drill down into specific details without scripts of programming code. RAZOR(R), the award-winning BindView security research team, also designs bv-Control pre-defined report templates and delivers best practices and security information.
"In working with BindView's more than 20 million licensees, we have learned that the bv-Control for Windows 2000 solution adds tremendous value to the overall security of an enterprise," said Bob Tesh, director of outbound marketing for BindView. "Winning the prestigious MEC Best of Show award is yet another testament to the quality of our product and BindView's commitment to offering the best tools for securing Microsoft environments."
BindView was also recently honored with a MSD2D.com People's Choice Award. BindView's bv-Admin for Exchange solution garnered first place in the Exchange Administration category. These awards were chosen by votes from readers of MSD2D.com, an online resource for administrators, developers and users of Microsoft's Exchange, Sharepoint, .NET and SQL products.
