CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 2002
iDEFENSE, the only independent provider of security intelligence to government agencies and the Global 2000, has tapped John M. Frazzini, a veteran of the U.S. Secret Service, as its vice president of intelligence operations.
Frazzini has extensive experience on the front lines of the federal government's initiatives to combat cyberthreats and develop the public and private partnerships needed to protect critical infrastructure systems and data. As vice president of intelligence operations, Frazzini will direct iDEFENSE's global intelligence gathering operations to ensure that the company continues to deliver the cyberthreat and vulnerability intelligence needed to prevent damage from cyberattacks.
Frazzini will direct an established and experienced network of intelligence experts who provide iDEFENSE's customers with the ability to effectively defend their networks and data through a suite of intelligence products customized to meet users' specific cybersecurity needs.
Frazzini brings significant experience to iDEFENSE. As criminal investigator for the U.S. Secret Service, he lead numerous cybercrime investigations on network intrusion of Fortune 500 companies, denial of service and virus attacks on government systems and attempts to compromise critical infrastructure networks. Frazzini was also instrumental in the formation of the Electronic Crimes Task Force that brought private sector IT professionals, government agencies and law enforcement officials together in a coalition to develop a collective response to cybercrime.
Frazzini's appointment reflects iDEFENSE's continued investment in intelligence gathering and cybersecurity expertise, following closely the hire of Brian Kelly as CEO; Kelly is a 20-year veteran of the government's cyber-intelligence community and the former chief security officer for Deloitte & Touche's e-business practice. Frazzini will report to Kelly and will be based at the company's headquarters in Chantilly, Va.
"Our customers know that there is no silver bullet to ensure security and realize that awareness is the first and most critical step in thwarting cyberattack before damage is done," said Kelly. "John's intelligence gathering and investigative skills will ensure that we continue to provide our customers - from the CEO to the end-user - with the timely, relevant and actionable intelligence they need to maintain business continuity at all times."
