RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 17, 2002
Company officials and representatives from government and industry dedicated a new BAE SYSTEMS facility here today.
The 130,000 square foot complex, located at 11487 Sunset Hills Rd., will serve as headquarters for the company's Integrated Systems business.
In December 2001, BAE SYSTEMS launched Integrated Systems to provide customers with high-level systems architecture design, development and integration. The company's expertise in systems engineering and the integration of large information-based systems will support existing and future solutions required by the Department of Defense, intelligence agencies and homeland security organizations.
"We're pleased that BAE SYSTEMS decided to expand in Northern Virginia and add to the growing list of companies in the high-tech corridor," said Governor Mark R. Warner. "This underscores our commitment to the business community and the creation of new defense jobs in the area."
Mark Ronald, BAE SYSTEMS North America president and chief executive officer, said the state-of-the-art building would be "the cornerstone of this critical business -- the premier enterprise information systems integrator and service provider for our national security and national defense."
The Integrated Systems facility features rapid prototyping laboratories and a collaborative development environment to integrate key capabilities in intelligence processing and exploitation, sensor data fusion, architecture analysis, imagery and geospatial processing, and 3D visualization.
Bill Schuster, president of Integrated Systems, said, "This facility, its capabilities, and most importantly our team, will help fulfill the critical need to address the ever increasing amounts of data that must be turned into actionable information and knowledge to ensure the security of our nation."
