LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 2002
Designed to jumpstart Microsoft Windows CE.Net development on the Intel(R) XScale(TM) Micro-architecture, Cogent Computer Systems (Cogent) has introduced the CSB226 Single Board Computer.
It provides software developers with a rich array of on-chip peripherals with carefully selected off chip devices. The CSB226 features the 300Mhz PXA250, 32Mbyte FLASH, 64Mbyte SDRAM, Ethernet, Serial I/O, Compact FLASH, LCD Interface with Touch Controller and Digital Audio I/O. The CSB226 is a compact 5" x 7" board that is powered by a low cost 5V only power supply. The CSB226 comes complete with User's Manual, Schematics, Power Supply and Cables. The CSB226 is also available in customized versions thus allowing companies to leverage Cogent products and expertise, to make better decisions, to improve productivity, and to reduce time-to-market. Cogent can create mechanical variations and add/or reduce board functionality to meet a customer's unique space, performance and cost constraints. Bundled with the CSB226 is an open source Boot Monitor, `Micromonitor' by Ed Sutter. This provides the software developer with a base level of functionality. Micromonitor provides TFTP/DHCP, FLASH File System, Boot Scripting and low level machine initialization.
Cogent has partnered with Entelechy Consulting (Entelechy) to provide a complete Windows CE .Net Board Support Package (BSP) for the CSB226. This BSP supports all PXA250 peripherals as well as the Ethernet, Digital Audio, Compact Flash and PS2 Keyboard/Mouse and Intel VTune(TM) Support for application performance analysis.
CE .Net provides the user with an outstanding array of functionality for real-time, consumer and industrial oriented applications. Developers can begin creating custom configurations of the operating system for their designs. Applications developers can begin to create and debug the applications for the custom device. This capability along with support for the VTune(TM) technology allows application developers to analyze the performance characteristics of their code and make design and architectural choices based on actual hard data collected from the development system. Special drivers and BSP builds are also available directly from Entelechy for customized versions of the CSB226 or for you own internal PXA250 based products.
Pricing and Availability
The CSB226 is available now at $1,395 USD. The Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE.Net BSP for the CSB226 is available as a binary release for $1,495. A source code version is also available. Cogent distributes its products through a worldwide network of resellers. See their web site, www.cogcomp.com for more information on the CSB226 and Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE.Net BSP or call ( 01) 401 295 6505. See attached datasheet for more information.
