STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 2002
OutlookSoft Corporation, the global innovator of a unified, business performance management (BPM) solution, received recognition for its vision and innovation in the business performance management market space in the first-ever Gartner Corporate Performance Management (CPM) Suites Magic Quadrant.
The distinction comes at a time when OutlookSoft is experiencing tremendous growth and new client acquisition, rapid expansion in Europe, and accelerating market demand both domestically and internationally for its solution, the Enterprise Analytic Portal(R) (EAP).
Gartner defines CPM as the methodologies, metrics, processes, and systems an organization uses to monitor and manage its business performance indicators. The evaluation process for the Magic Quadrant included a review of major CPM players, including enterprise application vendors, BI vendors and best-of-breed hybrid players. OutlookSoft secured a placement as a visionary company, defined by the report as having a clear vision of market direction and focused on preparing for the future of CPM, with improvements still needed in terms of optimizing service delivery.
"In the past months, we have seen a significant shift in attitude toward corporate governance, transparency and accountability. Customers demand a solution that will enable them to make decisions based on accurate, timely and comprehensive information about the state of their business," said Mike Morini, chief operating officer, OutlookSoft. "Although Gartner's report should be weighed as one of many selection criteria when making an informed vendor selection, the report provides a definition of a 'visionary' company, which has historically been a difficult concept for customers to measure. We believe that our positioning in the report is a strong affirmation of our commitment to providing our customers with the best vision possible to achieve their business and strategic goals."
OutlookSoft has been executing on its vision for more than three years and has attracted myriad industry leaders, such as Dell Computer Corp., Fortune Brands, Inc., Intrawest Corp., and Borders Group, Inc. These companies are using EAP to deploy more effective plans, accurately measure overall company performance and deliver results that are on target with corporate goals and objectives.

About The Magic Quadrant
The Magic Quadrant is copyrighted September 2002 by Gartner Inc. and is reused with permission. Gartner's permission to print its Magic Quadrant should not be deemed to be an endorsement of any company or product depicted in the quadrant. The Magic Quadrant is Gartner's opinion and is an analytical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period. It measures vendors against Gartner-defined criteria for a marketplace. The positioning of vendors within a Magic Quadrant is based on the complex interplay of many factors. Gartner does not advise enterprises to select only those firms in the "Leaders" quadrant. In some situations, firms in the Visionary, Challenger, or Niche Player quadrants may be the right matches for an enterprise's requirements. Well-informed vendor selection decisions should rely on more than a Magic Quadrant.
