SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 2002
Ensenda, Inc., the leading same day delivery service that enables customers to receive purchases in as little as 60 minutes, today announced eight new customer relationships, including agreements with a leading national home improvement chain, and a pilot deal with Sony of Canada.
Earlier in the third quarter Ensenda also launched delivery services for Interstate All Battery Centers, Follett Higher Education Group, Sur La Table, Anthropologie, and Select Western Ltd., and Select Laser Ltd., both operating in Canada.
"We are proud of the momentum we have gained in the past few quarters, and believe our track record and expertise will continue to attract new customers in many of our target markets," said Chris Mannella, CEO and President of Ensenda. "Retailers across many industries -- from books and gifts to commercial supplies -- recognize that Ensenda's service is both a more efficient and cost-effective way to manage deliveries, and a service that helps develop long-term customer loyalty."
Ensenda's growing customer base is indicative of the value that the company's flexible delivery services provide. Through Ensenda's proprietary technology and established network of professional couriers, retailers can offer a variety of delivery options to their customers, from immediate on-call delivery to next day service. In addition, Ensenda provides customers a single point of contact for all their local deliveries making delivery processes easier to manage and creating a more convenient shopping experience for businesses and consumers.

Ensenda has extended its relationship with FAO Inc. from an initial 7 store pilot to encompass all stores for the company's three brands. The Ensenda service is currently available at six FAO Schwarz stores, 16 Zany Brainy outlets and all 63 The Right Start stores -- and a complete nationwide rollout to the three brands' 255 retail outlets is currently underway. Ensenda has also grown its relationship with Canadian-based Laser Networks to cover three regions of Canada since launching in Q4 of 2001.
Ensenda's customers leverage a network of 10,000 uniformed delivery personnel in over 120 markets in the US and Canada. Ensenda links all orders to couriers within the same geographical location as its customer and then deploys the appropriate vehicle, equipment, and manpower to fulfill consumer and business purchases.
