PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2002

Regional Solutions Integrator Deploys IPStor To Provide

Highly Available Network Storage and Data Replication Services

FalconStor Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:FALC), a leading provider of network storage infrastructure software, today announced that it has collaborated with the Thor Group via its subsidiary QUAVIS to deploy FalconStor's IPStor as the network storage infrastructure for data consolidation, and to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery at a large communications company in France.

The Thor Group was faced with fulfilling the IT requirements from its customer for a storage solution that provided instant recovery of its mission-critical applications, centralized management of heterogeneous storage systems through the aggregating and provisioning of storage resources, and an urgent need to implement a comprehensive solution for high availability and business continuity. Seeing that it solved the storage needs of its customer, the Thor Group chose to deploy IPStor.

"Several virtualization solutions were tested in our lab, and we selected IPStor because it meets our customers' requirements. With IPStor, we can do long distance replication with high storage volumes, and at the same time, we can optimize on the existing hardware equipment," said Michel Thevenot, Thor Group CEO. "IPStor enables us also to evolve with future requirements. For these reasons, IPStor is the best suited product owing to the infrastructure and constraints of the very large messaging solution implemented by this large communications company."

Thor and FalconStor engineers have configured the communications company's IPStor environment in an active-active failover mode, with remote replication, TimeMark, Snapshot Copy, DynaPath for Fibre Channel, and Snapshot Agents to maximize data availability and business continuity.

"The Thor Group via its subsidiary QUAVIS and FalconStor are helping the communications company to reap the benefits of IPStor for a high availability storage network infrastructure that features no single point of failure, a comprehensive disaster recovery plan, and unlimited potential for growth," said Guillaume Imberti, vice president and general manager of EMEA for FalconStor.
