Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE), the leader in network publishing, today announced the immediate availability of a free Adobe(R) Premiere(R) 6.5 plug-in that supports Sony's new DSR-DU1 portable video disk unit. The new Adobe Premiere plug-in enables users to edit video directly from a DV camera equipped with the DSR-DUI model -- minimizing the time-consuming process of capturing and downloading raw video footage to a computer hard drive.

The new plug-in is available today for Adobe Premiere 6.5 on Windows and can be downloaded, free of charge, from http://www.adobe.com/premiere.

Adobe Premiere 6.5 for Windows(R) XP, 98SE, 2000, ME and Macintosh OS 9 and OS X is available in the United States and Canada for an estimated street price is US$549 for the full versions of each platform. The estimated street price for the upgrade for registered users is US$149. Adobe Premiere 6.5 is included in the Adobe Digital Video Collection 8.0.
