peermusic ``Scores'' With 2002 MTV Latin Music Award Wins; Juanes, Sin Banderas and Diego Torres Win Awards at This Year's Award Ceremony

peermusic publishing's success at this year's 2002 MTV Latin Awards followed their huge success this year at the Latin Grammy Awards: Juanes, Sin Banderas and Diego Torres, were all awarded at the MTV Latin Music Awards for this year's honors. Nominated for 13 awards this year, peermusic's songwriters were responsible for three of the top honors.

Juanes, whose second album, "Un Dia Normal" (Surco/Universal) has received great critical acclaim and a Latin Grammy Award this year, was named Best Male Artist; Coti Sorokin, one of peermusic's most prolific artists/songwriters/producers, co-wrote the Billboard-topping single "Color Esperanza," which gave BMG artist Diego Torres the win for Best Artist Southern Region; and Sin Bandera also won for Best New Artist North.

A highly successful year for peermusic's Latin division, peermusic was responsible for seven 2002 Latin Grammy winners for the following awards from their songwriters: Best New Artist for Jorge Moreno, whose album featured a version of "Babalu" (Ernesto Lecuona); Best Pop Album By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for Sin Bandera's Leonel Garcia cuts "Para Alcanzarte," "Kilometros," "A Encontrarte," "A Primera Vista," "Entra En Mi Vida," "Te Vi Venir," "Sirena," "Si Me Besas" and "Ven"; Best Rock Solo Vocal Album by Alejandra Guzman for Reyli Barba's "Labios de Fuego"; Best Rock Album By A Duo Or Group by la Ley for "Paraiso," co-written by Claudia Brant; Best Rock Song by Juanes for "Un Dia Normal"; Best Merenge Album for Olga Tanon's "Yo Por Ti" (which includes the single "Como Olvidar" by Gustavo Arenas and Jorge Luis Piloto); and Best Engineered Album by Alexandre Pires for the songs "Usted Se Me Llevo La Vida" (co-written by Donato Poveda), "Aqui Nada Es Igual" (co-written by Donato Povedo), "Si Tu Me Amaras" (co-written by Claudia Brant), "Es Por Amor" (co-written by Donato Poveda) and "Amor De Mujer" (co-written by Donato Poveda).
