Sonic Solutions (Nasdaq:SNIC) announced today that Sony Corporation has chosen Sonic MyDVD(R) 4 Video Suite to bundle with its Dual RW drives worldwide, the first combination drives for the PC to support the DVD RW, DVD R, DVD-RW and DVD-R formats. With the new internal and the external drives, Sony encompasses four popular DVD recording formats, delivering the highest level of recording functionality and playback compatibility. By including Sonic's MyDVD Video Suite, Sony gives its customers the ability to create professional-looking DVDs quickly and easily from their home movies, video tapes and digital photos.
With Sonic MyDVD 4 Video Suite, users of Sony's Dual RW drive can record videos to DVD, watch them on their TVs, and then, if they wish, put them back into their PCs to edit and update the content using OpenDVD. OpenDVD technology, included in MyDVD, turns DVDs into living archives, making it easy to create video diaries, up-to-the-minute customized sales presentations, family video albums and more. Sonic MyDVD 4 Video Suite also incorporates advanced video editing, enabling users to add transitions, effects and voice-overs to their DVD titles.
