PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 3, 2002

LogicLibrary(TM), a leading provider of software and services that get companies started with Web services, today announced it has joined IBM's Web services on WebSphere (WoW) advisory council. IBM (NYSE: IBM) formed the council in February to provide direction from industry leaders for its WebSphere(TM) Web services platform and to ensure that its customers have the best possible set of tools and information to build and deploy successful Web services-based applications.

The WoW advisory council consists of partner companies that help define program and product requirements, particularly for the financial services, healthcare and telecommunications industries developing Web services. As an advisory council member, LogicLibrary will give suggestions and information about key issues, including product features, "how to" guides, perspectives on industry trends and expert advice on best practices relating to WebSphere and Web services.

"LogicLibrary delivers a starting point for enterprise Web services enablement," said Gregory Coticchia, CEO, LogicLibrary. "As a member of the IBM Web services on WebSphere advisory council, we're joining with other industry leaders to build products and programs that enterprises need to realize the productivity gains and cost reductions promised by Web services."

LogicLibrary Logidex, a mapping and discovery engine for software development assets (SDAs), enables WebSphere developers, architects and business analysts to quickly and easily find, understand and use the SDAs that serve as building blocks for high-quality Web services development. These SDAs include components, legacy applications, XML schemas and associated documentation, mapped to the business' technical and business process models. Logidex is integrated with WebSphere Studio, based on Eclipse, allowing developers to move easily from the Studio family of tools to the Logidex SDA Library, where they can retrieve essential information about their software development assets. Logidex is approved as a "Powered by WebSphere" solution and runs on IBM's DB2(TM) UDB and WebSphere Application Server on both pSeries(TM) and xSeries(TM) platforms.

"IBM is pleased to work with companies like LogicLibrary to provide industrial-strength Web services solutions that meet the needs of customers across all industries," said Scott Hebner, director of WebSphere marketing, IBM. "LogicLibrary joins a select group of companies that are helping IBM create a self-sustaining community for sharing technology and business strategies to develop and deploy Web services built on WebSphere. Through WoW and its advisory council, IBM plans to enable an ecosystem of partners who will build superior Web services solutions, thus enabling our mutual customers to easily develop, deploy and manage Web services."
