Emptoris, Inc., a leading provider of collaborative strategic sourcing solutions, today kicked off its first ever Emptoris User Conference event in Boston, Massachusetts. Several Emptoris customers, including representatives from Motorola, GlaxoSmithKline, Exostar and Quadrem, as well as Pierre Mitchell, vice president at AMR Research, will offer discussions and presentations touting the emergence and adoption of e-Sourcing software solutions such as Emptoris' ePASS. The conference runs from October 3-4 at the Hyatt Harborside Hotel at Boston's Logan Airport.
The purpose of the conference is to gather Emptoris customers and partners together to share their experiences, practical insights, and best practices concerning e-Sourcing. Emptoris plans to showcase its ePASS e-Sourcing suite, while providing presentations that focus on lowering purchasing costs and identifying the best supplier-base allocation methods using Emptoris' optimization technology.
"By using Emptoris' ePASS software, Motorola has been able to significantly cut costs and reduce sourcing cycle times," said Rob Harlan, director of Internet negotiations and e-Sourcing programs at Motorola, and chairman of the Emptoris User Conference. The Emptoris User Conference provides Motorola and other Emptoris customers a unique opportunity to hear how other leading-edge companies are benefiting from ePASS. In addition, the conference showcases Emptoris as the thought-leader in the e-Sourcing software market."
"The Emptoris User Conference is the perfect forum for our customers and partners to interact, network, and share experiences concerning the value and benefits of our ePASS software," said Avner Schneur, chief executive officer, Emptoris. "In addition, we at Emptoris can learn so much by simply listening to our customers and understanding their pain points so we can help solve their strategic sourcing problems. An opportunity like this will strengthen our company and ensure that we put our customers needs first."
In addition to presentations by Emptoris customers, the conference features a presentation by Pierre Mitchell, vice president at AMR Research titled `e-Sourcing Trends.' In a recent AMR Research report titled "e-Sourcing: ROI Tastes Great, Applications Less Filling," Mitchell states that "Emptoris is very strong in all functional processes associated with direct materials support" and "Emptoris' integrated, internally developed functionality is a strong point for companies looking for one sourcing application to cover a range of capabilities."
