ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 7, 2002

Enterprise Storage Solutions, a division of the North American Computer Products group of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW), today announced availability of the CLARiiON CX400, the second networked storage system in the CLARiiON CX series from EMC Corporation.

The CLARiiON CX400 is immediately available in Arrow's Universal Enterprise Storage Labs, which offers resellers and their customers a hands-on, multi-vendor assessment environment and a unique try-before-you-buy opportunity.

"Arrow is the only enterprise distributor who can provide resellers with the ability to test products like the CX400 immediately upon their release," says Lance Sedlak, director of marketing, Enterprise Storage. "That's an important feature for smart resellers who don't want to be perceived as practicing with new technology in front of their customers."

"The addition of the CLARiiON CX400 to the Arrow lineup will give resellers a new platform, with leading price performance, that allows them to deliver additional value to their end-user customers," said Terry Richardson, vice president of reseller sales, EMC.

The CX400 is the smallest full 2 Gb Fibre Channel product in the mid-tier market, offering up to 4.4TB of storage. An extension of EMC's recently announced CLARiiON CX series, the CX400 offers users a clear migration path to the CX600, with both systems using the same drives and device enclosures to preserve the customer's investment. It is also software-compatible with prior CLARiiON series, yet can be used in more distributed locations or remote sites.

The CX400 will attract customers interested in mid-level server and storage replication, disaster recovery solutions or networked storage options. Live reseller demonstrations of the CX400 will be held today in Arrow's Universal Enterprise Storage Lab in Atlanta and on October 14th in the Minneapolis Universal Enterprise Storage Lab. Arrow resellers who are interested in testing the CX400 in a replica of their customers' own environments can arrange that through their Arrow Enterprise Storage Solutions representative by calling 1-800-229-3475.

Additionally, Arrow resellers that do bring in their end-user clients for CX400 or CX600 configuration testing may be eligible to have their lab fees reimbursed through the EMC "Test Drive" program. And, if the customer purchases a CX400 or CX600 system within 60 days of the testing or by December 31, the third year of the customer's hardware maintenance will be free.
