TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 2002

Integrated Information Systems Inc. ("IIS") (Nasdaq:IISX), an innovative technology and business consultancy, today announced the successful completion of Wildfire Communication's messaging infrastructure upgrade and migration. The project was conducted in two phases: migrating the company from a Microsoft Windows NT(R) 4 domain structure to Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Active Directory(R); and upgrading and migrating Wildfire's messaging system from Lotus Notes(R) 5 to Microsoft Exchange 2000.

Wildfire Communications Inc. based in Waltham, Mass., is a pioneer of Virtual Assistant technology and markets the Wildfire(R) suite of products including the award-winning, voice-activated Wildfire Virtual Assistant. The popularity of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Active Directory in the marketplace guided Wildfire to integrate the Wildfire Assistant with these products. In addition, the company's messaging infrastructure was based on older systems, Lotus Notes 5 and Windows NT 4. Wildfire wanted both their product and their internal infrastructure to mirror that of their customer base.

The company contracted IIS to plan, manage and implement the upgrade to Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Active Directory. Wildfire had strict deadlines for deploying the internal migration. As a primary beta site for product upgrades, the new Wildfire Assistant product schedule was a driving factor. IIS met the internal deployment deadlines on time and on budget, completing the project in only 3 weeks. In addition to the upgrade and migration to Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange, IIS conducted a network security audit and was able to securely integrate and restructure Wildfire's directory naming system (DNS) to eliminate potential points of failure. IIS also reconfigured and modified the routing system and firewall to ensure secure access to the messaging system from anywhere in the world. Finally, IIS delivered secure and seamless coexistence between Microsoft Exchange and the remaining Lotus Notes business applications.

"The migration from our Lotus Notes 5 messaging system to Microsoft Exchange and from Windows NT 4 to Windows Active Directory was a complete success," said Tim Retelle, manager IT infrastructure for Wildfire. "The IIS consultants managed the project with an established methodology, vigilance on security issues and professionalism. We worked long hours under the pressure of our upcoming product release and we only saw the best from the IIS staff. As a result, we were able to conduct a solid beta test of the Wildfire Assistant, using our new Microsoft-based messaging platform."

"We value our partnership with Wildfire Communications and other clients who are looking to achieve the best from their IT infrastructure," said Jim Garvey, chairman, chief executive officer and president of IIS. "We worked side-by-side with Wildfire's IT staff to ensure that all project criteria were achieved and that knowledge transfer occurred continually during the project. We believe that our approach will assist the Wildfire staff in maintaining and supporting their new messaging infrastructure into the future."
