LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 2002
Louisville-based Autodemo continues to prosper by doing one thing well for a very select group of customers.
Privately held Autodemo is the leading developer of software and web demos (demonstrations). Demos are online communication tools that help e-businesses showcase the features and functionality of their software applications and websites.
Autodemo announced today that it has entered into agreements to develop siteseer(R) web demos for Amazon.com, Yahoo!, Forbes.com, and the NYTimes.com.
"Amazon.com, Yahoo!, Forbes, and The New York Times are four of the best known brands in the world. It's a tremendous compliment that they've chosen our siteseer demos to better communicate the value of their respective websites," said JC Stites, Autodemo's Founder and CEO. "When we started Autodemo four years ago, we kind of got lost in all the dot-com hoopla. Since then, lots of companies have disappeared. Not only are we still around, we're thriving because we've always been focused on one thing - developing demos and doing it better than anyone else."
Amazon.com was one of the first companies to recognize how siteseer demos could benefit its customers. "Since August, 2001, we've worked with Autodemo to create on-site demonstrations for some of our more popular features and the customer response has been extremely favorable," said Jessica Scheibach, Group Program Manager, Buying Applications & Services, at Amazon.com. "We're excited about the new 'Welcome to Amazon.com' demo that shows new shoppers how quick and easy it is to find, discover and buy things at Amazon.com."
Yahoo!, a leading global Internet company, is using siteseer to highlight the new DSL Internet service it recently launched in an alliance with SBC Communications Inc. When users sign up for SBC Yahoo! DSL service they can watch a siteseer demo that introduces key features of the service including a customized browser, instant messenger and personal assistant features such as personal email and calendar, and more.
"One of the core values of SBC Yahoo! DSL is ease of use, and with Autodemo's siteseer demos, we are able to simply and thoroughly illustrate how broadband households can get the most out of their personalized, high-speed experience," said Doug Garland, vice president and general manager Access, Yahoo! Inc.
Forbes.com, a leading source of business and investing information, selected Autodemo's siteseer demo solution to provide users with an overview of the content and interactive tools available on its Web site. The objective of the demo is to increase membership to Forbes.com and provide its users - the world's business leaders - with a more meaningful online experience.
"What distinguishes Forbes.com is the quality of news, opinion and interactive tools we deliver. With the help of Autodemo's siteseer demos, we're able to showcase the breadth of our offerings in a way that engages users and makes them want to become even more involved with our site," said Jim Spanfeller, President and CEO of Forbes.com. "Not only do these demos improve the online experience for our users, they will improve our bottom line by better illustrating the value of our premium content."
NYTimes.com, the online edition of the The New York Times, is using a siteseer demo to showcase its new online travel section. The demo encourages NYTimes.com users to research and purchase travel services from this enhanced area of the site.
