LONG BEACH, Calif. & AUBURN, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 2002
Lafayette County Car Company, LLC, manufacturers of the next-generation Neighborhood Electric Vehicles, introduced their new two passenger electric vehicle at an American tradition, The Kruse Classic Car Auction and Show in Auburn, Ind. In its 32nd year, the Kruse Auburn Fall Classic Auction is considered by many to be the greatest gathering of classic and collector car enthusiasts in the world.
There could have been no better stage from which to present the LC 3 NEV, the next generation of multipurpose electric vehicles. "Like Auburn Fall, the LC 3 team started it all. Since 1993 members of the Lafayette County Car Company have been involved in the market niche we named, Neighborhood Electric Vehicles," stated Kirk McLauchlin, president of LCC.
Members of the LC 3 team were there in 1995 when trans2 Corporation (now GEM) began production of the first NEV. The LC 3 team assisted in the development of the NHTSA regulations creating the federal motor vehicle classification of low speed vehicles (LSV 500). Now a group from the management and investment team that invented the NEV category and defined the market niche have returned to the market with a better product than their own original.
"Unlike some of our competitors, we recognize and understand the (NEV) market and the place in it for our product line of multi-use cars," stated Jim Thomas, vice president, Sales Operations and Marketing.
The first 10 production LC 3 two passenger NEVs were sold at the Kruse auction in record time. Kruse Foundation spokesman Craig Adolph stated, "We could have sold two or three times that many had they been available; the reaction by the auction attendees was amazing."
The new two and four passenger LC 3 NEVs from the Lafayette County Car Company are the official NEVs of the Kruse Museum Foundation and are available for sale at the museum and through other Kruse related venues.
The LC 3 is being sold through retail outlets with a reputation for meeting the highest standards of customer service. For further franchise or sales information contact the Lafayette County Car Company, LLC.
