ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2002

Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. (Nasdaq:PSUN) and DreamWorks Records are offering one lucky winner and a guest the opportunity to enter for a chance to win a rock 'n' roll trip of a lifetime in their Lifehouse Sweepstakes.

The grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to a major city of their choice to meet the members of the double-platinum band Lifehouse and then see them live in concert. The winner will also receive an apparel and accessories prize package courtesy of O'Neill Clothing.

The sweepstakes runs through Sept. 22 in all PacSun stores and continues through the month of October on the PacSun Web site. Signage in all stores instructs consumers to enter the contest online at www.pacsun.com.

The Lifehouse Sweepstakes will also be promoted on America Online at AOL Keyword: Lifehouse and across AOL Music's leading online music properties.

Concurrent with the Lifehouse sweepstakes, PacSun stores are featuring a free gift promotion with PacSun vendor O'Neill. Shoppers who make an O'Neill purchase in stores will receive a free Lifehouse locker poster while supplies last.

The grand prize is a three-day/two-night trip for two to one of five major U.S. cities to meet the band live in person and see them in concert. The grand prize winner will also take home an O'Neill prize pack that includes a backpack, sweatshirt, shorts, T-shirts and other apparel and accessories valued at $500, plus Lifehouse CDs and merchandise.

"Music is an important part of our customers' lives and Lifehouse is an extremely successful band that is relevant to the PacSun demographic," said Tim Harmon, president and chief merchandising officer for PacSun.

"The pairing of Lifehouse with PacSun provides enormous exposure for our stores and Web site, while at the same time delivering significant excitement and a very cool prize to one of our customers," he added.

Dyana Kass, director of marketing at DreamWorks Records noted: "We are always looking for new and exciting ways to expose our artists to their target audience. PacSun stores are a great exposure venue for Lifehouse and this sweepstakes. Lifehouse's new album, 'Stanley Climbfall,' will arrive in stores September 17th.

"This sweepstakes provides us with pre-launch exposure for the album and continued exposure after the release, both in PacSun stores and on the PacSun Web site. We couldn't ask for a more targeted audience then the PacSun shopper."

In addition to the two weeks of exposure in PacSun stores and six weeks of promotion on PacSun.com, the Lifehouse Sweepstakes will be promoted online by AOL Music, O'Neill and through PacSun's 3,000-plus affiliate Web sites.
