Wireless Knowledge Appoints Joe Barone as Vice President Engineering; Microsoft Mobility Development Executive Will Lead Software Engineering and Research & Development

Wireless Knowledge, a QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq:QCOM) company, and market leader in delivering enterprise grade strategic mobility solutions, today announced the appointment of Joe Barone as vice president, engineering.
Barone brings over 20 years of software development experience to Wireless Knowledge.
In his role as vice president of engineering, Barone will lead the company's product strategy, software engineering and research & development efforts. Wireless Knowledge has developed its Workstyle family of products as the most complete mobile groupware package available today. The flagship Workstyle line delivers a robust, secure and scalable mobility infrastructure that meets the demands of the mobile worker that is often out of the office, but still needs to remain connected to their information. Barone will drive the continued creation of enterprise-class mobile solutions and future generations of infrastructure products.

Prior to joining Wireless Knowledge, Barone was group development manager at Microsoft Corp. where he lead product development teams including Mobile Information Server (MIS) 2001 and 2002, and Outlook Mobile Access (OMA). Before joining Microsoft, Barone was the vice president of product development with the MESA Group. Barone's background also encompasses expertise in networked computing, embedded systems and asymmetrical multi-processing.
Barone earned a B.A. from Queens College, City University of New York, and received a Certificate in Applied Sciences, Software Engineering from Harvard University Extension.
