Imation Names Two Vice Presidents to Drive Data Storage Removable Media Business Growth

Ron Zinke to lead business-to-business media and services;
David Ferraresi to head personal storage solutions
Imation Corp (NYSE:IMN) today named Ronald D. Zinke as vice president and general manager, Data Storage Media & Services and David G. Ferraresi as vice president and general manager, Personal Storage Solutions. Both positions report to Frank Russomanno, president of Imation's Data Storage and Information Management (DS&IM) business segment. In 2001, Imation's company-wide data storage revenues totaled $875.9 million. In the six months ended June 30, 2002, they totaled $497.5 million.
Commenting on the appointments, Russomanno said, "These promotions put two data storage industry veterans, with extensive data storage business experience, in key leadership positions at Imation. Ron and Dave have track records of successfully growing new businesses and managing in competitive markets. In their new roles, they will continue to drive Imation's global growth across all markets with a focused strategy in the data storage removable media industry. Their marketing, sales, operational and international experience are powerful assets for our customers, channel partners -- and our data storage leadership team."
Ron Zinke will be responsible for business development, sales and marketing to the business sector of Imation's data storage business. Prior to this promotion, Zinke was general manager of Imation's Data Storage and Media Services business since 2001. He joined Imation at its spin-off from 3M in 1996, and has held a variety of management positions since then. Zinke began his career at 3M in 1967 and has held a variety of U.S. and European marketing and sales management positions. He was marketing director of 3M's Data Storage business from 1990 to 1995. Zinke holds a bachelor of science from the University of North Dakota.
Dave Ferraresi will be responsible for directing research and development, business development, sales and marketing for Imation's products aimed at the consumer and personal data storage markets. In addition, Ferraresi will have responsibility for marketing communications, brand development and e-business initiatives across business and consumer market sectors. Ferraresi was previously general manager of Imation Europe, and has been the leader of Imation's European data storage business since 1997. Ferraresi joined Imation at its spin-off from 3M in 1996; at that time he was European business manager of the CD-ROM/Optical media business. Ferraresi joined 3M in 1975 and has held a variety of marketing, sales and management positions of increasing responsibility. Ferraresi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing/Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
