REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 2002
Barry Robella, vice president of Business Development, Public Sector for SeeBeyond (Nasdaq: SBYN), spoke last week at the Republican High Tech Task Force meeting hosted by Senators George Allen (R-VA), Robert Bennett (R-UT) and John Warner (R-VA). Robella spoke about the importance of information integration in the government sector as a response to Homeland Security issues.
"The high-tech community values this forum as an opportunity for promoting cooperation and enhancing the relationship between the public and private sectors," said Robella. "As information sharing becomes even more critical in this era of heightened security, SeeBeyond is well-positioned to address the need for a robust and comprehensive integration solution to enable the seamless flow of information in real time."
Robella spoke shortly after Congress cut funding for The Information Integration Office from the 2002 supplemental funding bill. The Information Integration Office, originally proposed by the Bush Administration, was part of the homeland defense security effort that would help design and roll out an information integration architecture allowing agencies to share information across their disparate systems.
Having recently joined SeeBeyond as a part of its expanded government team, Robella has over 30 years of experience in Information Technology with the public sector. He has a long record as a primary liaison between government and I/T interest groups concerned with security and e-Commerce. Robella has won several awards for I/T management in the public sector and is an active member on key industry association committees. These include the Federal Electronic Commerce Coalition, the Industry Advisory Council, The Information Technology Association of America and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
