ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 2002
REDCOM and MAPICS work together to complete successful
implementation project one month ahead of schedule and under budget
MAPICS, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAPX), a global provider of collaborative, extended enterprise applications for manufacturers, today announced that REDCOM Laboratories Inc., a Victor, N.Y.-based manufacturer of digital telecommunications switching systems, recently completed a successful implementation of the MAPICS enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that was nearly twenty percent under budget and one month ahead of schedule.
REDCOM and the MAPICS Professional Services Organization worked together to move the ambitious solution launch date up one month from July to June 2002. The timing of the launch coincided with REDCOM's win of a $76M deal with the U.S. Department of Defense and will enable the company to establish and leverage streamlined processes for enhanced competitiveness.
When looking to transition from its previous ERP solution, REDCOM sought out a robust, flexible solution that will grow with the company, and selected MAPICS. "MAPICS had so much of what we were looking for in an enterprise solution, that the decision was simple," said Brigitte Gueldenpfennig, vice president of finance and personnel for REDCOM. "From addressing big concerns such as lot traceability to smaller details such as expanded field sizes, MAPICS proved to us that it was the best solution for our needs. Additionally, MAPICS' scalability will enable us to add functionality, such as Web-based collaborative communication, when we're ready to do so."
"We are very pleased with the successful and rapid implementation at REDCOM," said Dave Banish, vice president of professional services for MAPICS. "REDCOM's dedication and hard work along with the MAPICS Professional Services Organization's proven implementation methodology made the transition smooth and uneventful. And especially with REDCOM's recently awarded contract with the Department of Defense, we're confident that the company has realized the significant value of its MAPICS solution."
