WOODSIDE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2002
Cohesion Systems, Inc., a developer of EDA software that accelerates the creation and verification of complex designs, today announced a partnership with Dolphin Integration to offer SmashLog -- an integrated design creation and multi-language simulation workflow for Mixed Signal design.
SmashLog combines Cohesion's Chip Designer -- a powerful design and debug environment for Full Custom IC, Analog and Mixed Signal design, with Dolphin's multi-lingual simulator mixing Verilog and VHDL in a single engine.
According to Jesse Newcomb, Cohesion's vice president of engineering, "The tight integration of this combined offering provides a single unified environment for design and simulation with seamless cross-probing. Verilog and VHDL text design are integrated with schematics into one Mixed Signal HDL design and simulation flow."
Michel de Peyrot, president of Dolphin, stated, "We have been working with Cohesion for the past three years, reselling Cohesion's Chip Designer to front end our Smash Verilog/VHDL simulator for Mixed Signal design. Cohesion's Chip Designer's open API, capability to cross probe to simulation and waveform viewing, and core unified design database provides us with the opportunity to construct and bring to market complete design flows that meet the needs of our customers."
Michel Saia, Cohesion's vice president of sales, added, "Our partnership with Dolphin is the first implementation of a new program we call Powered By Cohesion, where we team with other EDA vendors to combine the power our design and debug environment with downstream applications. Our customers are looking for both complete workflow integration and the ability to select best of breed applications for their specific design environment. We expect to launch additional Powered By Cohesion workflows over the next few months in response to specific market demand."
SmashLog is available from Dolphin, www.dolphin-integration.com, priced at $9750 USD for a node locked license. The product is available on Windows, UNIX and Linux platforms. The design database is 100% compatible between these operating systems to support project teams working at different locations, in different computing environments.
