MANASSAS, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2002

IDI Multimedia, a Washington, D.C.-area multimedia firm, recently produced two enhanced CD album reissues for Jimmy Eat World.

The enhanced CDs, currently only available internationally, include the band's first album release, "Static Prevails," and their sophomore effort, "Clarity," which critics consider an overlooked gem.

Jimmy Eat World's career has skyrocketed over the last year, as evidenced by multiple domestic and international chart hits combined with huge sales. The enhanced CDs give Jimmy Eat World's new fan base a chance to discover the band's first two album releases on Capitol Records, while the enhanced CD content--available commercially for the first time--will entertain fans old and new.

Both "Static Prevails" and "Clarity" have been out of print in most territories for years.

IDI produced the multimedia CD-ROMs by combining videos, promotional press photos, web links and other content from the albums' original release with the full, high-quality audio for each. IDI worked closely with Capitol's international division on design and function concepts for the CD-ROM, targeting Jimmy Eat World's young and tech-savvy audience.

IDI's programmers designed a custom interface and ensured that the audio components work just as smoothly on a computer and a home stereo CD player.

"Working with Capitol Records on the Jimmy Eat World project gave IDI a chance to showcase our multimedia skills to the music industry's elite," said Drew Caracciolo, IDI Multimedia's Vice President of Marketing. "Our programmers had the opportunity to create a customized CD that includes the highest quality audio and video plus entertaining information about the band. This was an exciting project that we hope will continue to open doors for IDI Multimedia."

Jimmy Eat World, which hails from Mesa, Arizona, includes guitarist/vocalist Jim Adkins, bassist Rich Burch, drummer Zach Lind and guitarist/vocalist Tom Linton. The band, whose name derives from a child's drawing, signed with Capitol Records just a year after launching their music in local clubs back in the early 90s.

After leaving Capitol, the band signed with the DreamWorks records label, and their dedication and hard work has paid off with huge success and top media exposure in places like Spin Magazine, Rolling Stone and MTV.

IDI Multimedia has been delivering communication solutions and creating custom multimedia content since 1996.

Its clients include some of the most widely recognized names in the corporate, nonprofit, and educational communities--TRW, Lockheed Martin, the National Institutes of Health, American Institute of Architects, The American University, and the Department of the Navy. In 2001, the Virginia firm won an Omni Intermedia Award for its Human Genome Project CD-ROM.
