Best-of-Breed Approach Integrates Solutions From Over 325 Partners --
to be Outlined at OPSEC Developer's Conference
Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today unveiled its roadmap to integrate and simplify the management of multi-vendor security environments via new capabilities in Check Point's revolutionary Security Management Architecture (SMART(TM)). The new Check Point Smart OPSEC Manager(TM) centrally manages and administers all OPSEC(TM) certified applications from the SmartDashboard(TM), enabling integrated security while dramatically lowering the customer's total cost of ownership. The roadmap will be further detailed at next week's OPSEC Developers Conference, Oct.1-2 in Northern California.
The three major capability areas within Smart OPSEC Manager being detailed include:
-- Policy Management enables an integrated security policy across all users, applications, systems and networks. Today, customers can manage their entire security policy across all OPSEC certified products via Check Point's SmartDashboard. Check Point Policy centralized management architectures allows managing application operations and parameters (1H03) from within the same framework, as well as leveraging vendor specific management tools that can be launched directly from the SmartDashboard. This open approach provides the best of all worlds - consistent single console for management, integrated parameters and management while retaining the full power of each vendor unique management tools - when those are needed. -- Incident Management allows for event identification, isolation, response and prevention across users, applications, systems and networks. Today, Check Point's SmartView Family imports and integrates event logs from OPSEC certified security applications and network devices and exports event logs to external management systems. In 1H'03, security administrators will be able to automatically correlate events and generate real-time automated responses. -- Security Provisioning provides easy set-up, deployment, monitoring and upgrades of all security modules in the enterprise. Today, using SmartCenter(TM) users can quickly provision multi-vendor security solutions. In 4Q'02, security administrators will be able to provision OPSEC certified security applications with the ease of Check Point's "One-Click" technology.
These comprehensive integrated management capabilities are enabled via more than 20 OPSEC interfaces that include Check Point application programming interfaces (APIs) and industry standard protocols. All OPSEC compliant products are rigorously tested and certified for seamless interoperability. With over 325 participating vendors and over 175 OPSEC certified products, OPSEC guarantees customers the industry's broadest choice of integrated applications and deployment platforms that can be centrally managed.
Jim LoTruglio, Vice President of Information Technology for The Hearst Corporation states, "We are very excited about this next evolution of integration of our security architecture. We have seen significant value in leveraging the Check Point OPSEC framework, and believe this new capability provides an even greater benefit."
"The industry has chosen a best-of-breed security approach, which requires management tools that integrate and interoperate with multiple products from multiple vendors," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of business development and product management for Check Point Software Technologies. "While other vendors recognize this as the future for security management, Check Point is the only one delivering this today. With our multi-vendor management roadmap, we're pleased to once again raise the bar and further advance security management."
