Clear Channel Entertainment announced today that global superstar Shakira will embark on her first world-tour visiting 30 countries and 50 cities throughout 2002 and 2003.

Beginning Nov. 8th in San Diego, Shakira's North American tour will visit 30 cities through February with a European stop-over in December including dates in London, Cologne and Barcelona. Tour Of The Mongoose is sponsored internationally by Pepsi and Reebok and presented by MTV in North America.

A child prodigy, Shakira signed her first recording contract with Sony Music Columbia at the age of thirteen. Her earliest recordings Peligro (Danger) and Pies Descalzos (Barefeet) rendered her a superstar in Latin America, Brazil and Spain. With the release of Donde Estan Los Landrones? produced by Shakira and Emilio Estefan, her phenomenal writing ability, her sensuality, her spectacular voice became a world-wide tour de force.
