New Certification Confirms Strongest Possible Security for

Enterprise and Government Applications

SchlumbergerSema, a business unit of Schlumberger Limited (NYSE:SLB), has been awarded the Common Criteria EAL4+ Certificate by the French DCSSI (Direction Centrale de la Securite de Systemes d'Informations) in recognition of the high level of security provided by its Cyberflex JavaCard(TM).

The card meets all the prerequisites of today's enterprises and government organizations: protection for the privacy of individuals, portability, convenience, sophisticated data storage, maximum flexibility, security and resistance to counterfeiting. The Cyberflex JavaCard is also available as part of the Schlumberger DeXa.Badge offering, an identity management security solution which includes a card issuance and management system for efficient administration throughout the lifecycle of the card.

The unique security features offered by the Cyberflex 32K card make it the first JavaCard product to receive accreditation for its operating system and applet, as well as its chip. SchlumbergerSema is the only JavaCard manufacturer to claim the integrated Digital Signature Applet as part of the entire certified product in compliance with the mandatory European CEN Protection Profile.

The Common Criteria EAL4+ Certificate is a recognized security assessment standard that is complementary to the US FIPS certificate, an accreditation previously obtained by SchlumbergerSema ahead of any other company. SchlumbergerSema has already delivered one million of its Cyberflex Access FIPS 140-1 level 2 cards for worldwide deployment by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), and its CACTUS middleware was recently selected by the DoD to complete the integrated security solution. The newly certified card is available for organizations worldwide -- such as government and national defense agencies, banks and NATO -- which rely on the same top-level security for their operations.
