Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), one of the largest global suppliers of high performance power products for multiple end markets, today announced it has been added to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). The DJSI World Index consists of the top 10 percent of the largest 2,500 Dow Jones Global Index companies cited for corporate sustainability.

The DJSI characterizes corporate sustainability as the long-term shareholder value companies create by embracing opportunities and managing risks derived from economic, environmental and social developments. Leading sustainability companies display high levels of competence in addressing global and industry challenges within corporate governance, financial robustness, environmental management and performance, customer relationship management, supply chain management, risk and crisis management, and labor practices.
As a part of the DJSI World Index, Fairchild Semiconductor joins more than 300 companies in 59 industry groups from 33 countries.
Fairchild became a member of the Index through a recently completed annual review, conducted by the Dow Jones Indexes and Sustainable Asset Management (SAM), an independent asset management company based in Switzerland among the first to specialize in the sustainability-driven investments field. The annual review evaluates companies based on an online questionnaire, submitted documentation, policies and reports, publicly available information and SAM's direct contact with the organization.
