DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2003
Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America Inc. today introduced the Platinum Series HD-Upgradeable 22-inch and 30-inch LCD televisions/computer monitors.
Featuring the proprietary MonitorLink(TM) interface, the LT-2220 and LT-3020 LCD televisions can be upgraded to full integrated HDTV capability by connecting the HD-5000 Digital Receiver-Controller.
Designed for high-performance HD viewing, as well as computer monitor capability, these televisions are appropriate for use from the living room to the executive office. Both models are designed around LCD panels with 768 x 1280 resolution for superb picture performance with both HDTV and PC monitor images.
"As multimedia and high-definition capability become required capability, these televisions can excel in both environments," said Max Wasinger, senior vice president of sales and marketing. "Consumers are looking for the performance, flexibility and form-factor that LCD offers, and Mitsubishi focused on combining LCD technology with the features and capability that make it easy to use and enjoy."
The company plans to ship these new models to its dealer network in early summer with a suggested value price of $3,199 for the LT-2220 and $5,199 for the LT-3020.
"Historically, LCD displays that were designed for computer use were different products from those designed for video. `Bridge' displays that attempted to address both markets were actually optimized for one market or the other," said Robert A. Perry, vice president, marketing.
"One of the key design breakthroughs from Mitsubishi Electric is that these televisions are engineered to excel at both applications. They will exceed the demanding requirements of both videophiles and graphic artists."
In related news, the company also announced its full television line-up of HD-Upgradeable, ED-Upgradeable displays and televisions, its 82-inch Alpha 1080P x 1920 HDTV, the HD-5000 HDTV Receiver/ Controller, its latest-generation of plasma displays, their DVD Players and Digital/Analog recorders.
