The Biggest, The Loudest, The Greatest Tour of the Summer 2003….. AEROSMITH / KISS

Business Wire, April 18, 2003

Entertainment Editors/Business Editors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2003

Clear Channel Entertainment announced today that seminal rockers Aerosmith will be hitting the road this summer with musical monsters KISS. These towering titans of rock will head across the country for over thirty-two dates in what will undeniably be the hottest tour of the summer. The Tour will kick off in Hartford, CT on August 2nd and will run through October. Aerosmith and KISS will share the stage with special guests Saliva. Clear Channel Entertainment, the world's leading promoter and marketer of live entertainment, will promote and produce the tour.

Aerosmith has been rocking the nation for over a quarter-century and show no sign of slowing down. With classic albums such as Rocks, Toys In The Attic and Pump these Boston natives helped lay the foundation of blues-rock. Their influential "Walk This Way" collaboration with Run DMC brought rap to a whole new audience and paved the way for the Rap/Rock movement. Over the course of their career Aerosmith have won Grammys(R) for such classic rock singles as "Janie's Got a Gun", "Livin' On The Edge" and "Crazy". In 2001 Aerosmith joined the ranks of rock's elite as they were inducted into The Rock Hall of Fame! Aerosmith have won countless MTV Awards in categories such as "Best Rock Video", "Viewer's Choice Award", "Best Male/Hard Rock Video", and "Best Stage Performance in A Video" among others. In 2002 MTV accorded the band its highest honor by declaring Aerosmith 'Icons' of the music video age - where numerous musicians and celebrities gathered together to honor the group and celebrate their success.

While these awards signify their legendary status, Aerosmith is that rock rarity that continues to release hit after hit. In the 70s, 80s and 90s they scored hits with "Dream On", "Sweet Emotion", "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)", "Love In An Elevator" and "Crazy". Their latest album "Oh Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits", released last June, contains more hits, but also features new tracks, including "Girls Of Summer", which skyrocketed up the charts.

You wanted the best. You got the best. The hottest band in the world...KISS! Purveyors of decadence and excess since the 70s, KISS invented stadium rock with their sci-fi Kabuki costumes, explosive theatrics and, of course, their garish make-up. They took the "Greatest Rock N' Roll Show On Earth to all corners of the globe and were one of the first acts to extensively tour Asia and South America. In doing so, they attracted the world's most rabid fans: The KISS Army. More recently, KISS performed during Super Bowl XXXIII and rocked an astounding 800 million viewers. In 2002 they breathed fire into the closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Dick Clark featured KISS on the New Year's Rockin' Eve four consecutive years and included the band in the American Bandstand 50th Anniversary special highlighting the biggest musical acts of all time.

But none of the platform boots, pyrotechnics and make-up would matter without the music: Destroyer, Rock And Roll All Over, Love Gun and Alive became the soundtracks for teenage rebellion. They have recorded more gold records than any other American band in history and have sold more than 90 million albums worldwide. And, as the band moves into its third decade of musical mayhem, it is as vital as ever. Two tribute records, Hard To Believe (1993) and Kiss My Ass (1994) serve as testaments to their lasting influence. Their 1997 release, Psycho-Circus, both climbed the charts and nabbed a Grammy-nomination.

Tickets for this amazing line-up with Aerosmith and KISS will go on-sale beginning April 26, 2003 all over North America. For show and ticketing information, check your local listing or log onto www.cc.com.
