SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 2003
Curriculum is First of Its Kind to Combine Wireless Networking,
IP Telephony and Security in One Class
Today, GigaWave Technologies, and Advanced Network Information, Inc., (ANI) announced the availability of a new Cisco authorized training curriculum with hands-on labs that enable network professionals to install, configure, maintain, and secure end-to-end Wireless IP Telephony solutions. The Secure Wireless IP Telephony (SWIPT) curriculum teaches IT professionals how to simultaneously utilize wireless networking, IP telephony, Mobile IP and security features to improve voice and data traffic flow through a Cisco network.
The SWIPT class offers solutions based, hands-on training and will be available for registration in April 2003. Students can register at www.giga-wave.com (210) 375-0085 or www.ani-training.com (408) 244-2046.
"Today organizations must successfully integrate a number of technologies into one robust and secure solution," said Chris Marco President of GigaWave Technologies. "This class addresses multiple technologies being deployed in the enterprise today and gives IT professionals the skill-set to integrate a wireless LAN and IP telephony solution with the security and quality of service requirements needed to increase workplace productivity, mobility and reduce operating costs."
"As today's networks add functionality past relatively simple wired data transport, new vulnerabilities arise," said Gary Rubin President of Advanced Network Information, Inc. "The physical infrastructure now includes wireless, as well as wired, access. Voice, as well as data, is now carried on this infrastructure. How does an organization protect its network all the way through, from one end to the other, on this new, more complicated assembly? Answering this and related concerns (such as QoS) is why ANI and GigaWave Technologies teamed up to develop the SWIPT course."
The SWIPT class brought together the wireless LAN expertise of GigaWave Technologies and the IP telephony know-how of ANI. GigaWave is an authorized Cisco Learning Partner that develops and delivers most of the Cisco wireless networking curriculum. ANI is an authorized Cisco Learning Partner and industry leader in IP telephony curriculum development and training.
The SWIPT class is recommended for organizations that want to implement a secure and mobile wireless IP Telephony solution. Upon completion, students will have a working knowledge of the Cisco Aironet WLAN and CIPT architecture, hardware, software and security practices. The class includes hands-on labs in which students will actually configure and secure a wireless IP Telephony solution that leverages Cisco's Aironet wireless LAN product set and Cisco's mobile IP capabilities.
