BEVERLY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2003
From the sands in the Mideast to Central American jungles and deserts in Afghanistan, the Humvee(R) is the vehicle that leads the war on terror. Now those missions come to life on the PC with the introduction of the Humvee(R) Assault(TM) PC CD-Rom game, the newest addition to Infogrames' (NASDAQ: IFGM) powerful line of military games. Shipping to retail stores nationwide this week, Humvee Assault features third-person shooter style tactics combined with the ultimate Humvee driving experience and on-foot gameplay.
"Humvee Assault features an authentic experience with recognizable vehicles, weapons and equipment at a reasonable price," said Paul Rinde, Senior VP and General Manager of Infogrames' Minneapolis studio. "Anyone who has followed the war in Iraq can appreciate the effectiveness of the Humvee in military operations. This game gives casual gamers and military enthusiasts a chance to experience operating a Humvee for themselves."
The High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle, known as the Humvee, is the most relied-upon front-line combat vehicle for high-profile international military and peacekeeping operations. In Humvee Assault, players attempt to track down and eliminate dangerous forces throughout the world in a variety of pulse-pounding missions battling terrorists in Afghanistan, Colombia and even Iraq. Players have a devastating arsenal of machine guns and missiles and choose from four different vehicles - the classic Humvee, Up-Armored, Cobra and Eagle - each with its own benefits and camouflage customization features.
Humvee Assault features arcade-style action and easy-to-learn controls coupled with outstanding graphics that give it the highly detailed look of a simulation that puts players at the center of every skirmish. Multiple camera views - from inside the Humvee, third person gunner view or as the player on foot - allow players to experience the action in various ways. The game also features realistic physics, a visually Enhanced FX system, lengthy levels, a wide range of enemy vehicles like buggies, tanks, jeeps and snowmobiles and in-game cut scenes that allow players to follow the story line.
Developed by Sylum Entertainment Ltd., Humvee Assault has a suggested retail price of $19.99. The game has a Teen (T) rating with blood and violence from the ESRB. Additional more information on this game and other Infogrames' products can be found at www.us.infogrames.com.
