"Planar, the first company to introduce a 19-inch LCD monitor in the United States, continues to be fastest to market with products that set the mark for top performance, like our QuadStand base and the first 17-inch flat-panel display to offer a super-fast 16 ms response time," said Erick Petersen, general manager of the commercial business for Planar. "We're a recognized leader in 19-inch LCD desktop monitors, and the PX191 is simply the best 19-inch flat-panel display available today."

From sharp text and detailed spreadsheets to large-format photos and high-end video applications, Planar's PX191 supports home, office and entertainment applications with equal ease. Sleek, black or silver bezels, thinner than the diameter of a dime, frame the 2.3-inch deep SXGA (1280 x 1024) display, which provides ultra-wide 170-degree viewing angles both vertically and horizontally. Onboard, the PX191 features an analog input, as well as DVI-D input for crisp, all-digital image reproduction and seamless set-up.

"Nineteen-inch LCD monitors comprise the fastest growing segment of the North American monitor market," said Rhoda Alexander, director of monitor research, iSuppli/Stanford Resources. "Future growth prospects look excellent, with 2004 unit sales expected to exceed 1.9 million units."

Planar's PX191 will be available May 9, 2003, in black or silver for an estimated street price of $849, and comes bundled with Portrait Display's PivotPro software for quick adjustment from landscape to portrait viewing orientation.

The innovative, ergonomic stands of Planar's PX171M, the first LCD monitor to offer a response time of just 16 ms, and PX191 meet the anticipated TCO '03 guidelines. The proposed TCO '03 ergonomics guidelines for LCD monitors call for products to meet a minimum height adjustment range of 4.3 inches to adapt to users of different statures and eliminate eye and neck strain often caused by an improperly positioned monitor.

Free 2-Day Air Replacement Warranty

All Planar desktop monitors include the industry's leading three-year "Customer First" warranty with free, 2-Day Air advance product replacement for all three years.
