Siemens Power Generation Signs Changepoint to Automate Its Global IT Support Team; Changepoint's Software to Enable Integration and Automation of IT Business Processes

Changepoint Corporation, a leading provider of Web-based business process automation solutions for services organizations, today announced that Siemens Power Generation has selected Changepoint to manage and automate business processes within its IT function.

The deployment, which is scheduled for completion by July of this year, will initially see half of Siemens Power Generation's 1000-strong IT support team using Changepoint's Professional Services Automation (PSA) solution Changepoint 8.0.

The Power Generation Group (PG) of Siemens AG is one of the premier companies in the international power generation sector. In fiscal 2002, Siemens PG posted sales amounting to EUR9.4 billion and received new orders totaling EUR10.6 billion. On September 30, 2002, Siemens PG had a workforce of approximately 26,000 worldwide. The move to implement a PSA solution at Siemens Power Generation was fueled by the need to streamline business and IT processes following the acquisition of the U.S. power company Westinghouse in 1998. Siemens Power Generation is deploying Changepoint in order to gain visibility of both IT resources and current projects across the organization where it will be integrated with SAP.
