HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 2003
Quorum Business Solutions Inc. (Quorum) announced today that Enogex, a subsidiary of Oklahoma Gas & Electric, has selected Quorum's Contract Management software application. A component of the Quorum Energy Suite, the Quorum Contract Management software application is designed as an enterprise-wide central contract repository that supports all contract management business processes through the entire contract life-cycle.
Enogex is a natural gas pipeline and energy marketing company that operates one of the nation's 10 largest natural gas pipeline systems with more than 10,000 miles of pipe, 13 processing plants and 23 billion cubic feet of gas storage, principally in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Enogex required the ability to capture detailed contract information and store that information in a centralized repository to facilitate the management of contracts across the enterprise. The company selected Quorum's solution on the strength of the product's functionality and overall flexibility. Quorum's industry expertise, delivery track record and overall customer and product support model were also cited as factors in the decision. Quorum is currently implementing the system targeting an overall completion date in September 2003, although some key business functions will be completed as early as April 2003.
"Quorum's Contract Management software application is finding broad acceptance as the solution of choice for enterprise contract management," said Mr. Paul Weidman, president of Quorum Business Solutions Inc. "Enogex recognizes that there are significant achievable business benefits to be obtained from implementing this type of system that allows centralized management of contract information across multiple legacy applications and for multiple assets."
Enogex becomes the third company to license Quorum Contract Management in as many months following previous announcements of licensing arrangements with two other energy companies. With increased industry emphasis on counter party credit management and corporate governance, contract management has become a central issue for all energy companies. Quorum has been quick to recognize the issue and bring to market a comprehensive software solution that meets that need.
