LANSDOWNE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2003
Appligent, Inc. (www.appligent.com), the leading provider of PDF-related software applications, announced today that its entire product line, including the popular, easy-to-use plug-ins, StampPDF(R) and Redax(R) are fully compatible with the new release of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 software.
The release of Acrobat 6.0 will help businesses simplify document processes with Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). A de facto standard adopted by governments and enterprises worldwide, Adobe PDF is a reliable, secure format for electronic document output and exchange. It preserves the integrity of documents so they can be viewed and printed just as the author intended. The complete line of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 products includes Acrobat 6.0 Professional, Acrobat 6.0 Standard, Acrobat Elements and Adobe Reader 6.0.
"The new features in Acrobat 6.0 will enable enhanced collaborative workflows for our corporate and government customers," says Mark Gavin, Chief Technology Officer of Appligent. "Additionally, the new security features in Acrobat 6.0 will give end users greater assurance in the authenticity and integrity of their documents."
In addition to Acrobat 6.0, a newly updated version of Appligent's popular Redax will be launching in May 2003. Redax 3.5 offers government agencies the ability to completely remove sensitive, classified or private information from PDF files, providing 100% assurance that the data is deleted and unrecoverable.
"Appligent continues to provide robust tools to automate the production of documents on Adobe PDF forms," says Sarah Rosenbaum, director of Acrobat Product Marketing for Adobe. "With support for Acrobat 6.0, Redax and StampPDF will offer accuracy and reliability of results along with ease of use, greatly simplifying the task of removing sensitive information from Adobe PDF documents or stamping data onto Adobe PDF files."
Another of Appligent's popular plug-ins is StampPDF, which stamps pages in an Adobe PDF document with text and/or JPEG images. The stamp becomes part of the Adobe PDF document when opened and printed. StampPDF extends the existing stamping functionality in Acrobat 6.0 to include support for Bates Numbering--an important form of page numbering for the legal community. StampPDF also allows companies to customize the appearance and position of stamps to comply with their corporate standards or create a consistent look for its Adobe PDF documents.
Appligent's complete line of server-based software applications and plug-ins are fully compatible with Acrobat 6.0 and can be found at www.appligent.com.
