Nasdaq Notifies Company That SEC Filings Satisfy Condition for Continued National Market Listing; 'E' To Be Removed from Ticker Symbol Prior to Trading Tomorrow

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2003
Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMSTE) (the "Company") announced today that it received notification from the Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Panel that, based upon the Company's compliance with the Panel's previously announced March 31, 2002 deadline for making certain SEC filings, the Panel has determined to continue listing the Company's securities on the Nasdaq National Market at this time. The Company remains subject to the conditions previously established by the Panel for continued listing, including a requirement that the Company conduct an annual meeting prior to June 30, 2003. As previously announced, the Company plans to hold its annual meeting on May 20, 2003. NASDAQ also notified the Company that the "E" will be removed from the Gemstar-TV Guide symbol before trading opens Tuesday, April 8, 2003.
