Centra Joins Forces with Largest Provider of Captioning for
the U.S. Television Industry to Deliver 508-compliant Solution
to Federal Customers
Centra Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTRA), a leading provider of application software and services for real-time enterprise collaboration (RTEC), today announced at the FOSE technology tradeshow in Washington, D.C., that it has partnered with Caption Colorado, the largest provider of real-time captioning for the United States' television industry, to provide a 508-compliant solution for the captioning of Centra-powered online sessions. This partnership will give organizations the ability to offer real-time captioning of audio delivered over the Internet or through teleconferencing in a live Centra event or meeting, and archive the audio transcript from the live session for future retrieval and distribution.
Section 508 is a Federal law that requires Federal agency electronic and information technology to be accessible to people with disabilities. This partnership will enable Federal agencies and other Centra customers to provide the hearing impaired population with equal access to all forms of real-time, online Web collaboration conducted throughout their extended enterprise - including meetings, conferences, Webinars, training, and other daily communications conducted over the Internet.
