ELKRIDGE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2003
General Physics Corporation (GP), a subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE:GPX), was selected by the Westchester County Department of Health (WCDH) to conduct two training exercises, involving a simulated large-scale infectious disease outbreak, to determine the preparedness levels of approximately 400 WCDH staff members.
A key objective of the training exercises is validating the WCDH Interim Terrorism Preparedness and Response Plan.
To develop the tabletop training exercises, GP will review WCDH emergency plans, related procedures and relevant emergency preparedness training agendas and reports. GP will also interview WCDH personnel to ensure that all relevant information is gathered before developing the training.
A global leader in workforce development, GP's Homeland Security services are designed around helping emergency response organizations plan for incidents, respond adequately to an event and mitigate the short- and long-term consequences of an attack.
Planning and preparing entails evaluating policies, procedures and plans for inclusion of provisions for NBC threats; assessing the availability of NBC supplies and equipment; and conducting NBC awareness and operations training, and team drills and exercises for employees.
