PETERBOROUGH, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 2003
Conference Program Features RF MEMS, Transducer Interfacing,
Wireless Sensing Networks, Nanoelectronics, and Intelligent Systems
Sensors Expo & Conference is pleased to announce a thoroughly researched and carefully constructed Spring 2003 conference encompassing a wide range of sensor technology. Topics include wireless sensing technology, radio frequency micro-electronic mechanical systems (RF MEMS), nanoelectronics, data acquisition and analysis, and the resulting intelligent systems and knowledge bases. The event takes place June 2 - 5, 2003 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, IL.
"The Spring 2003 program fills information gaps experienced by senior engineers and scientists whose primary tasks involve designing and implementing sophisticated sensor systems. Case studies focus on automotive, aerospace, distribution, industrial automation, homeland security, and chemical/gas processing industries, to mention a few," said Pam Roth, Sensors Expo Conference Director. "The conference, offered twice annually, is the only event encompassing all facets of the sensors industry, and the application of sensor-related, sensor-enabling, and sensor-enabled technologies - coverage spans from technologies and properties to industry segments and horizontal solutions."
Offering field-tested methodologies and real-world case studies, the sessions provide an in-depth look at issues and trends, and solutions for complex engineering and design challenges. Technical paper sessions include the Smart Sensor Technical Paper session led by Jamie Wiczer, president of Synergy Systems and formerly of Sandia Labs; and the Commercialization of MEMS, MST, and Nanotechnology Symposium developed by Roger Grace, Roger Grace Associates.
Of the many technology overviews, those by Joseph Stetter, Vice President, Nanomix and Andrew Girson, President, InHand Electronics focus on nanosensors and current developments in power management for intelligent wireless microsystems, respectively. In-depth workshops include the RF MEMS seminar team-taught by Veljko Milanovic and Darrin Young of the Adriatic Research Institute, affiliated with UC Berkeley; Wireless Sensing Networks for Plant Engineers presented by Peter Fuhr, San Jose State University; Introduction to Transducer Interfacing hands-on lab by Ed Ramsden, author of Hall Effect Sensors; and Digital Data Acquisition and Analysis led by Strether Smith, Principal Scientist, DSPcon.
Conferees have access to the Sensors Expo & Conference exhibit hall June 3 - 5, 2003 where dozens of sensor products, systems, and services meeting their specifications are available for inspection. Engineers and scientists from several labs and research facilities, including Accenture Technology Labs, Colorado School of Mines, and NIST will provide live demonstrations and briefings in the Emerging Technologies Pavilion and Theater - an educational event on the show floor. Details are available at www.sensorsexpo.com or by calling 800-331-5706.
