NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 2003

FileNet Corporation (Nasdaq:FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions, today announced Martyn Christian, senior vice president, worldwide field marketing, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) International, the preeminent global Enterprise Content Management Association.

Christian has been active in AIIM International for many years; he has served as a member of the AIIM Board of Directors since 2001 and was elected Vice Chair in 2002.

He will now serve as Chairman for a two-year term, though April 2005.

In his new role, Christian plans to focus on building AIIM's membership, diversifying association's funding base and investing in new high-value initiatives for AIIM members, as well as expanding the organization's focus and investment outside of the North American market with an emphasis on Europe. Additionally, Christian will lead AIIM's efforts to clearly articulate and evangelize what he calls "the true business value of ECM technologies, supporting services and solutions worldwide."

Christian is responsible for leading the marketing of FileNet's ECM solutions. Christian has nearly 20 years of technology sales and marketing experience with notable corporate leaders such as Olivetti and Eastman Kodak. Christian graduated with honors from Coventry University, United Kingdom, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies. In addition to his work with AIIM, Christian is a member of the Institute of Marketing.
