WILMINGTON, Mass. & SALFORDS, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 13, 2003
Agfa Monotype Corp. has released the entire collections from Bergsland Design, ShinnType and JY&A Fonts, adding over 300 fonts and font packages to Fonts.com. The typefaces can be viewed from the "Font Packs" and "Libraries" banners on the front page of www.fonts.com.
"I'm delighted we can now offer these fonts through Fonts.com," said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at Agfa Monotype. "Each font is well-drawn, carefully made, and a successful melding of the qualities that make a typeface distinctive and versatile."
As a writer and designer, David Bergsland began creating fonts for use in his own books. Bergsland's collection of typefaces includes the sizable Avenue(TM) family. Designed to be versatile for setting body copy, Avenue is available in several variations: serif, humanist sans serif, and old style. Bergsland's 18 typeface families are available for Macintosh(R) and Windows(R) platforms in PostScript(R) and TrueType(R) formats. Prices for individual Bergsland fonts begin at $32 with volumes of four or more fonts starting at $98.
Nick Shinn, a Toronto-based art director and type designer, founded ShinnType in 1999. Since then, ShinnType has released 21 families, including Beaufort(TM), a popular design that Shinn describes as "a kind of grotesque with small serifs and a no-nonsense, orthodox appearance." The Beaufort family also contains condensed and extended variations. ShinnType fonts are available in Macintosh PostScript, Windows PostScript and Windows TrueType formats. Prices for individual ShinnType fonts begin at $39 with volumes of two or more fonts starting at $59.
JY&A Fonts is part of the communications firm, Jack Yan & Associates, founded in 1987 by Yan, whose passion for hand lettering developed into type design. JY&A Fonts now features 29 typefaces, including the Integrity(TM) family. Integrity's condensed letterforms, high x-height and varying stroke thickness provide an unconventional, yet highly readable appearance. JY&A fonts are available for Macintosh and Windows platforms in PostScript and TrueType formats. Prices for single fonts begin at $19 with volumes of two or more fonts starting at $65.
