SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 25, 2003
JNI(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:JNIC) today announced that the award-winning FibreStar(R) FCX-6562 and FCX2-6562 Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) with the new No-Reboot 5.3 Solaris driver have been certified by 3PAR(TM) for use with the 3PAR InServ(TM) Utility Storage Server family. JNI's HBAs combined with 3PAR's robust InServ Storage Servers provide Solaris customers with a fully tested and interoperable solution that delivers exceptional system uptime, operational ease of use, and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
"JNI HBAs with the No-Reboot Driver builds on 3PAR's outstanding availability and rapid provisioning features," said Steve Crimi, director of business development at 3PAR. "For our joint Solaris customers, this is a no-brainer - more uptime and fewer hassles."
The JNI family of HBAs has long been the benchmark in open SAN connectivity for Solaris operating environments. JNI's award-winning FibreStar 2Gb HBAs are deployed in mission-critical SANs in top Fortune 500 companies worldwide. JNI's No-Reboot driver is the industry's only native HBA driver that eliminates the need for rebooting the server for dynamic target and LUN reconfiguration, driver parameter updates, and the unloading/reloading of drivers resulting in higher system uptime.
"JNI and 3PAR are committed to working together to ensure maximum interoperability, scalability, and a lower cost of ownership to our customers," said Phil Brotherton, vice president of marketing at JNI. "SAN device interoperability is very important to JNI and we will continue to add rising stars in the storage market such as 3PAR to our compatibility list moving forward."
JNI's No-Reboot 5.3 Solaris driver software is currently available for download at www.jni.com. There is no charge for the upgrade for existing JNI customers. The new driver is compatible with all JNI 2Gb HBAs.
