Oxygen and The Knot (www.theknot.com; AOL Keyword: weddings), the leading wedding fashion resource, are going gown shopping! The network and the #1 wedding website take viewers behind the scenes at this year's semi-annual Bridal Fashion Weeks for an exclusive look at the season's hottest gowns and designers. Airing Friday, September 12, 2003, at 7:30 p.m. on Oxygen, "Bridal Fashion Preview" lets viewers in on what the best-dressed brides soon will be wearing down the aisle. Carley Roney, Editor in Chief and cofounder of The Knot, hosts the half-hour special profiling four of today's most sought-after bridal designers: Beverly Hills-based designer-to-the-stars Monique L'Huillier; hip princess of bridalwear Melissa Sweet; exuberant Aussie brother/sister team, Michelle and Henry Roth (star of Style Network's "Style Court"), and Kenneth Pool with the highly-anticipated debut his premier collection.
With front-row footage from the industry's most elite bridal runways, "Bridal Fashion Preview" reveals what's hot in weddingwear for 2004. Oxygen and The Knot expose the drama behind the dress when they take viewers backstage to meet with designers through the days leading up to their runway shows, documenting the nail-biting moments as each prepares to wow the fashion editors and impress salon buyers. Cameras catch what brides don't see in the salons: from Kenneth Pool's last-minute preparations for unveiling his first line (after years under Vera Wang and Reem Acra) to Michelle Roth's hand-painted gown exhibition to Melissa Sweet's morning-of challenges and triumphs: "Everything I do culminates in this," stresses designer Melissa Sweet. "Thirty minutes -- and then it's over."
"This is a unique and fresh preview for brides as they prepare for their special day," says Kathleen Minton Catapano, the show's co-executive producer. "Oxygen and The Knot have captured the glory surrounding life's most precious milestone from the runway to the aisle."
"Every woman knows that her wedding gown is the ultimate fashion statement. Now millions of women who tune into Oxygen can see the myriad of fabulous options that they have for their fifteen minutes of fame," said Roney. " 'Bridal Fashion Preview' not only lets brides see the hottest styles but also provides the inside scoop on who is behind the wedding gowns they wear so proudly."
