"Moving Beyond Retrieval: Unstructured Information as Actionable
Knowledge" Webinar Series to Feature Leading Industry Analyst Experts
Stratify, Inc., the emerging leader in unstructured data management, today announced the launch of a series of webinar presentations focused on how to drive value from unstructured information. The webinar series features leading industry analyst experts from Giga Information Group, who will examine best practices and case studies on how taxonomies and content categorization enable a wide range of business critical applications and the challenges in developing and managing taxonomies and categorization models within information-intensive environments.
The first of the three webinar presentations will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 2 p.m. EST and will feature Dan Rasmus, vice president, Strategic Knowledge Initiatives, Giga Information Group, and Laura Ramos, director enterprise information management, Giga Information Group. Participants can expect to learn the following:
-- How to enhance traditional information applications such as search, content management and portals, by providing context to remove ambiguity, reference taxonomies to organize secure repositories, and a unified, browsable taxonomy of all enterprise information. -- How to move beyond retrieval by leveraging taxonomies to provide proactive insights and new business intelligence capabilities based on unstructured information. -- How to manage the total taxonomy lifecycle to ensure that information is categorized accurately and that taxonomies remain relevant to changing business conditions and corporate initiatives.
According to a recent Giga Information Group report entitled, Best Practices in Taxonomy Development and Management, "As a counterpart to reporting, data mining and analytics, taxonomies can leverage metadata and common descriptions to associate unstructured information with transactional, structured data in the developing area of content-centric applications," said Dan Rasmus and Laura Ramos. "Because of the cost related to manual taxonomy development and management, many organizations are seeking automatic means to discover, develop and manage taxonomies. Although all organizations can benefit from a taxonomy, each organization must determine an optimum investment that takes into account frequency of change, depth of detail and breadth of domains."
Stratify Discovery System(TM)
The Stratify Discovery System is an end-to-end enterprise software solution that organizes, classifies and leverages an enterprise's unstructured information, both internal and external. The system's unique multiple, parallel classification architecture produces highly accurate, consistent document categorizations that, together with the taxonomy, can be directly integrated into the workflow of business critical applications.
"Taxonomies and categorization software offer a compelling value proposition to companies that are seeking to move beyond traditional information retrieval methods to effectively leverage unstructured information resources directly within their enterprise applications," said David Bayer, director of marketing at Stratify. "Giga Information Group is a leader in analyzing these technologies and gauging their maturity for widespread deployment. This webinar series will provide important research insights and practical case studies to highlight how taxonomies and information categorization improve business processes."
The first webinar is scheduled for Thursday, February 27 at 2 p.m. EST. For more details and to register for any of the free webinars please visit www.stratify.com/learnmore/webinars/gigapr.html or call 800/988-2686. Space is limited.
