This Valentine's Day, Verizon Wireless customers are finding personalized ring tones the best development in romance since Cupid's arrow. How better to tell her you love her than by programming "Always on My Mind" to ring whenever she calls? Want to call it quits? Try "Goodbye to You." Can't get enough of him? "Addicted to Love" may be your tone. Think your honey is "all that?" Download "Brick House" for her signature ring. And, if you're feeling a little shaky about your relationship, "All Out of Love," might do the trick. With hundreds of tones available, there's a ring to match every romantic high and low.
Downloadable ring tones are available on Verizon Wireless' Get It Now(SM) phones, including the Audiovox 9500, LG-VX 4400 and Motorola T720; the phones also allow users to download games, access digital photos and check e-mail. Ring tones, which are easily downloaded right from a user's phone, are $1.49 each, five for $6.49 or 10 for $9.99.
In addition to their distinctiveness, ring tones are a serial dater's best friend. By assigning each paramour with a different tone, a wireless phone user knows immediately who is calling within a few bars.
"There's no more accurate barometer of how a relationship is going than personalized ring tones," said Youssef Mogadam, product marketing manager, Verizon Wireless. "Flowers eventually wilt and chocolates are gobbled up, but ring tones let you know where you stand every day."
Ring tones also send a signal when words fail. Let your loved one know what you're thinking by setting your ring to "At Last," or disarm your commitment-phobic significant other with "Wedding March." Control freaks will enjoy the classic, "Under My Thumb," and those looking for a perfect ring for their blended family should try the "Brady Bunch Theme."
For a limited time, Verizon Wireless customers who purchase a Get It Now-capable phone can download a free ring tone, provided by Modtones(TM) from Faith West Inc. Verizon Wireless customers can log on to www.modtones.com for a list of ring tones. The Modtones service is the first from Faith West Inc., a new, wholly owned subsidiary of FAITH INC., which pioneered the creation and delivery of polyphonic ring tones in Japan.
