Poland's Leading Mobile Communications Company Web-Enables Internal

Decision Making by Automating Human Resources Processes with FileNet

FileNet Corporation (Nasdaq:FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions, today announced that Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (PTC), Warsaw, Poland, one of the largest mobile phone operators in Central Europe, has implemented FileNet's ECM solution to streamline its business processes using a system called ATLAS.

The initial implementation has automated the employee forms and applications approval process, previously a manual procedure that was inefficient and hindered productivity. As a part of PTC's ATLAS system, FileNet's ECM solution enables PTC employees to share and manage information in electronic form, allowing them to make business decisions more quickly within a user-friendly, intuitive Web-browser environment. FileNet's products integrated seamlessly with the ATLAS system, which PTC created in conjunction with its self-imposed ISO 9001 quality control standards. Together, ATLAS and FileNet's ECM solution create an integrated, personalized working environment supported by the automated flow of information throughout PTC's Warsaw headquarters and regional offices.

"We decided to use the solution offered by FileNet for a number of reasons," said Jacek Polczynski, software development department manager, PTC. "Most of all, we think that FileNet's ECM solutions are the leader among other systems we evaluated. Moreover, our previously successful experiences with FileNet solutions and service made us feel that we could trust them. FileNet's products also allow us to recognize and act on the opportunity to simplify the processes that we previously did not consider for improvement."

Before the implementation of ATLAS and FileNet's ECM solution, the processing of an array of human resources forms could take days. Now the entire process takes minutes. PTC employees fill out the electronic forms in a familiar Web-browser environment on their desktop computers, and then send them to the appropriate person for approval with only one click of the mouse. Employees can track the status of their applications and are automatically notified by e-mail when a decision has been made. Security and version control are ensured by the FileNet ECM system.

According to Polczynski, the implementation of FileNet's ECM solution has enabled PTC to improve the efficiency of internal communications and restore productivity previously lost due to manual routing procedures, ultimately improving the time it takes for business decisions to be made. PTC plans to expand the use of FileNet's ECM solution into other key areas of the business.

"FileNet has shown us how to combine its technological possibilities with our company's needs to help us achieve the highest quality services," said Polczynski. "We look forward to continuing our long and successful business relationship with FileNet."

PTC provides network service to more than 4.5 million customers in Poland. The company is also licensed to provide services under the new UMTS standard. PTC has been a FileNet customer since 1996.
