NEW ORLEANS & DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 18, 2003
Continued Delivery of Vertical Industry Bundles Meets the Buying
Criteria of Midmarket Companies
J.D. Edwards & Company (Nasdaq: JDEC) continues to deliver on its promise to help midmarket businesses install J.D. Edwards 5(TM) collaborative enterprise software up to 50 percent faster on IBM eServer iSeries with software and services solution bundles for Wholesale Distribution and Industrial Manufacturing industries.
Together, J.D. Edwards and IBM provide flexible and scalable solutions that allow companies to focus on core business competencies and respond to their customers in real-time.
The J.D. Edwards 5 vertical bundles for Wholesale Distribution and Industrial Manufacturing meet the buying criteria of midmarket companies, including solution fit, lower cost of ownership, and predictable value.
J.D. Edwards consulting and education services will be included in these industry bundles. Collaborating with the customer, J.D. Edwards consultants will analyze specific business needs and match the pre-configured solutions to meet their business process requirements. Delivering on low total cost of ownership, J.D. Edwards training will be available to enable customers to be more successful using the solution after the implementation is complete.
"These two vertical software and services bundles on the iSeries are the result of J.D. Edwards' continued focus on listening to customers and delivering solutions and predictable value that meet the demands of the midmarket," commented Steve Maegdlin, vice president, Product and Industry Marketing, J.D. Edwards. "Our customers have always had the flexibility to add additional applications when needed to fulfill their changing business requirements, and when using J.D. Edwards pre-defined Business Processes, their time to benefit is accelerated."
The initial rollout of J.D. Edwards 5 bundles for the iSeries included business solution bundles and services for three horizontal markets -- Manufacturing, Distribution and Financials (see "Businesses to Get Faster Time-to-Value and Lower TCO with J.D. Edwards 5 Single Server Solution Bundles for IBM's new eServer iSeries models," January 20, 2003).
"We are excited to see J.D. Edwards' commitment to our joint customers in the Wholesale Distribution and Industrial Manufacturing sectors by offering these tailored bundled solutions," commented Al Zollar, general manager, IBM eServer iSeries. "This represents yet another step in our shared vision of providing open, scalable solutions to the midmarket."
Over the coming months, delivery of J.D. Edwards bundles will expand to include additional J.D. Edwards 5 applications. J.D. Edwards 5 vertical bundles for the iSeries platform are planned for general availability in May 2003, with other technology platforms planned for rollout after that.
