SeeBeyond To Facilitate Supply Chain Integration To Create Flexible
Integration Architecture
SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN), the leading global provider of eBusiness Application Integration solutions, today announced that Nisa-Today's, the UK's largest buying group for independent retail and wholesale companies, has selected the SeeBeyond(R) Business Integration Suite to extend the Retek Integration Bus (RIB) - a centralized retail enterprise application integration (EAI) platform that supports high performance real-time functionality and integration of other Retek and third party applications.
"It is essential that we operate our supply chain in the most cost-efficient way possible, and to do this we need a real-time supply chain infrastructure that will seamlessly integrate best-of-breed and legacy applications with guaranteed delivery for our members and suppliers. SeeBeyond offers us this capability with an extendable solution that gives us the flexibility, market-leading connectivity and reliablity to manage our operations now and into the future," said John Schofield, Group Managing Director, Nisa-Today's.
Nisa-Today's was formed in 1977, and provides a comprehensive support package to its members in the independent grocery sector throughout the UK, encompassing cost negotiation, distribution, own label, store development and marketing activity. Its members range from individual stores to regional and national chains, including Booths, Jacksons, Bells Stores and Budgens, as well as symbol groups such as Costcutter and Londis. Combined member turnover has increased from GBP 1.6 billion in 1987, to its current level in excess of GBP 15 billion.
Nisa-Today's is creating a single platform to streamline connectivity between the Retek Integration Bus, existing packaged and legacy systems, Oracle database and AS/400 mainframe applications. Nisa-Today's will be implementing a new order capture system and will be replacing its merchandising and distribution management systems with Retek. This new system will allow for effective tracking of orders as they are entered into the system, thereby enabling optimization of business performance through a centralized front-end.
