RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2003
KnowledgePlanet, the leading Real-Time Enterprise Learning (RTEL) provider, announced today its leader quadrant position in the recently released Gartner 2003 e-Learning Suite Magic Quadrant.
The report analyzed 29 of the top e-Learning vendors, highlighting a trend towards e-Learning suites as the solution of choice when compared to more narrow point solutions.
According to the Gartner report, a suite is defined as having four core components consisting of a Learning Management System (LMS), a Learning Content Management System (LCMS), Virtual Classroom Technology, and professional services.
KnowledgePlanet attributes its leadership position to client success in launching new products faster, extending learning to customers and suppliers, and reducing training costs.
"Vendors in the Leader quadrant have the highest combined measures of ability to execute and completeness of vision," according to Gartner. "Enterprises have learned from early failures that it is often not worth the time and money to integrate several vendors' e-Learning products. Enterprises are looking for 'one-stop shopping' and a single provider."
The KnowledgePlanet enterprise learning suite includes an LMS, LCMS, and Virtual Classroom, as well as the industry's leading performance management system. The e-Learning Suite, combined with professional services and optional enterprise hosting, helps drive business transformation, cut training costs, and improve employee and organization performance.
"We are extremely pleased to be recognized as a leader in this report," stated Alan Todd, Chairman/CEO, KnowledgePlanet. "We concur with Gartner findings that e-Learning Suites are replacing point solutions."

Gartner's permission to print or reference its Magic Quadrant should not be deemed to be an endorsement of any company or product depicted in the quadrant. The Magic Quadrant is Gartner's opinion and is an analytical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period.
It measures vendors against Gartner-defined criteria for a marketplace. The positioning of vendors within a Magic Quadrant is based on the complex interplay of many factors. Gartner does not advise enterprises to select only those firms in the Leaders segment.
In some situations, firms in the Visionary, Challenger, or Niche Player segments may be the right match for an enterprise's requirements. Well-informed vendor selection decisions should rely on more than a Magic Quadrant. Gartner research is intended to be one of many information sources and the reader should not rely solely on the Magic Quadrant for decision-making.
