Warner Bros. Publications has fans of television's most colorful family, The Simpsons, humming with the newly released The Simpsons Songbook. Long-awaited by the musically inclined, the book features 26 original songs compiled by series creator Matt Groening and Simpsons' musical maven and composer Alf Clausen.
Arranged for piano, vocals, and chords, The Simpsons Songbook consists of songs culminated from the first 13 seasons of the series and include the Emmy Award-winning "We Put the Spring in Springfield" and "You're Checkin' In," as well as "The Simpsons Theme," "The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show Theme," "Deep, Deep Trouble," "Do the Bartman," "Shari Bobbins Medley," "We Do (The Stonecutters' Song)" and "Stop the Planet of the Apes Medley." Many of the songs are also found on The Simpsons' soundtrack albums, such as "Songs in the Key of Springfield" and "Go Simpsonic with the Simpsons."
"Over the years, I have received many requests for sheet music of the songs on the show and on the CDs," explains Clausen. The piano/vocal arrangements in this compilation are all true to the songs as presented on the show and on the CDs. Matt Groening has been very supportive of this project...I really appreciate his support and encouragement."
